1971 Triumph GT6 MK3
The Vehicle:
The 1971 Triumph GT6 came to us originally for a brake overhaul. However, after a closer inspection, we discovered significant rust issues that weren’t immediately apparent.
The Vision:
The goal was to restore the Triumph GT6 to its original condition, ensuring it was reliable, structurally sound, and visually appealing, while maintaining the car’s classic charm.
The Hurdles:
Upon further inspection, the car’s rust problems were more extensive than initially thought. We had to address the body’s structural issues, which required a complete strip-down and careful planning to ensure the restoration was done right.
The Process:
After discussing the scope and cost with the customer, we decided to strip the car down completely. The chassis was shotblasted and powder-coated, and all new suspension was fitted. The engine was in good shape, so it just received a clean-up. All the necessary welding was completed on the body, and the car was then repainted in its original maroon colour.
The Result:
The Triumph GT6 was restored to its former glory, and the customer was thrilled with the outcome. Over a decade later, we continue to look after the car, keeping it in top condition.
