1965 Lotus Elan 26R
The Vehicle:
The 1965 Lotus Elan 26R arrived as a tired, worn-out racing car. With its racing history still intact, the vehicle was ready for a complete overhaul to restore its performance and
appearance.
The Vision:
Our task was to strip the car down to the bare chassis and restore it to its former racing glory, with the added challenge of making it align with the customer’s personal style and his other racing cars.
The Hurdles:
The Lotus had seen plenty of action on the track, so it was no surprise that it needed extensive work. Stripping it down, repairing its structural issues, and ensuring everything performed to the highest standards required both skill and precision.
The Process:
We began by shot-blasting and powder-coating the chassis to ensure it was as good as new. A custom roll cage was built to enhance the car’s safety. We then overhauled the brakes and suspension, upgrading them for optimal performance. The car was painted in the customer’s favourite colours to match his other racing car, giving it a fresh, unified look. The interior was completely stripped out, and a new custom dashboard was fabricated to the customer’s exact specifications, completing the transformation.
The Result:
The Lotus Elan 26R is now a fully restored racing car that combines the spirit of its racing past with modern performance. It looks stunning, performs flawlessly, and matches the customer’s other cars perfectly.
